Chocolate and connecting to ourselves.

I find chocolate fascinating. From the entire process it takes to make chocolate: the time and energy required to grow cacao including harvesting, fermenting, trading the beans, and all the way up the supply to chain into our mouths. This curiosity of such a complex food reminds me how amazing nature is and the connection we have to this planet. I think that is the essential critical element to us and the food we enjoy- the connection. Maybe it’s not conscious to think this way, but whenever we take pleasure in eating something we remember it, we think about our childhood, a past experience, something that is related to our life. I feel so present when eating chocolate. If you take the time to really taste (don’t chew!) chocolate, you slow down, relax and enjoy the moment.
